Netflix is making exciting fantasy news with the release in two weeks of an 8-part series that sends neurotic deities into an epic game of intrigue.
It’s been over six years since Netflix first announced the exciting fantasy project Kaos. Now the wait for the bitterly evil comedy series about neurotic and self-absorbed deities from Greek mythology is finally over. In just two weeks, the battle of the gods will begin on Netflix.
Fantasy on Netflix: Zeus, father of the gods, wants to prevent his own downfall in Kaos
Kaos is the new series created by Charlie Covell – a name that might sound familiar to series fans. Covell previously wrote the scripts for the wacky Netflix series The End of the Fing World. This fantasy series, however, takes a different direction and sounds like an exciting mix of American Gods and Percy Jackson for adults
Want a first impression? Here is the teaser trailer for Netflix’s Kaos
On Mount Olympus sits enthroned the king of the gods Zeus (played by charisma bomb Jeff Goldblum), who one day suffers an existential crisis due to a wrinkle on his forehead. What others would interpret as a sign of ageing is a clear omen of impending doom for Zeus. He becomes paranoid and begins to see betrayal everywhere around him – plunging the rest of his narcissistic and neurotic family of gods into chaos as well.
However, Zeus’ worries are not entirely unfounded. His prisoner Prometheus has long since set a secret plan of revenge in motion to overthrow the father of the gods. And this plan involves a few unsuspecting humans who soon find themselves caught up in the power struggle between the gods.
Sound interesting? That’s by no means the only reason to look forward to it. Because Kaos boasts a well-known cast. In addition to the unpredictable Jeff “Zeus” Goldblum, the cast also includes Janet McTeer (Ozark), Cliff Curtis (Avatar: The Way of Water) and David Thewlis, who starred as Professor Lupin in the Harry Potter films.
