The Chronicles of Narnia star William Moseley gave his thoughts on Netflix’s fantasy reboot from Barbie director Greta Gerwig – and is optimistic.
Almost 15 years after the last major Narnia film flickered across cinema screens, Netflix is in the starting blocks with a new edition of C.S. Lewis’ popular fantasy story. While the film adaptation is currently in the early stages of production, one of the biggest stars of Disney’s Narnia trilogy has now commented on the planned new adaptation. William Moseley is looking forward to the whole thing for one reason in particular: Greta Gerwig
The Chronicles of Narnia star William Moseley is looking forward to the Netflix reboot because of Greta Gerwig
As the Peter actor revealed in an interview with Bleeding Cool, he is excited about Gerwig’s approach to the detailed and fantastical world of Narnia. He has admired her work for years:
‘When it comes to what I think about Greta Gerwig directing: I think she’s incredible. Barbie was a great movie, Little Women was great. Everything she touches turns to gold and I think Netflix is lucky to have her and I’m sure she’ll rise to the challenge. I hope she enjoys it because it’s an incredible world to kee and I can’t wait to see what she makes of it.
So far, Gerwig has been linked as the sole creative force behind the project, along with Coco and Lightyear screenwriter Matthew Aldrich, whose involvement is now unclear. However, filming is due to start this summer in the UK. Who will join the cast of the Narnia remake and thus follow in the footsteps of William Moseley, among others, is still being kept strictly under wraps.
