You can still stream an absolute cult film with your Netflix subscription for a few more days. It even flopped at the time, but is now considered a multi-layered classic
In most lists of the best films of the last 25 to 30 years, Fight Club often appears at the top. With its mix of thriller drama, criticism of consumerism in capitalism and satire on ideals of masculinity, director David Fincher has created a much-discussed modern classic. But not everyone saw it that way from the start.
With a Netflix subscription, you can still stream Fight Club until September 14, 2024, when the cult film will be removed from the flat.
Mandatory program for every film fan: This is what Fight Club on Netflix is all about
The story of the cult film revolves around an unnamed protagonist (Edward Norton) who suffers from a severe sleep disorder. After he meets the charismatic businessman Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), the two of them begin by pulling off various crude deals. These include, for example, trading in soap made from the fat removed by suction from beauty clinics.
At some point, the main character and Tyler open a secret underground fight club, which more and more men join. There seems to be a much larger and dangerous operation behind the fight club, which slowly goes over the protagonist’s head

Fight Club only later became a cult movie
With a budget of 69 million dollars, the film initially grossed only 32 million dollars in the USA. According to Box Office Mojo, the film made a total of around 100 million dollars worldwide, which was still disappointing financially. It wasn’t until it was later released on DVD that Fight Club was rediscovered and slowly became a cult film.
Fight Club is still streaming on Netflix until September 14, 2024. After that, you can continue to watch the movie on Disney+ at any time in the flat rate
