After Monster Season 2, Netflix is bringing a documentary about the Menendez brothers in which both tell their version of the story. Here’s the first trailer.
Last week, Monster: The Story of Lyle and Erik Menendez started on Netflix. The second season of the true crime series from Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story) promptly landed at number 1 on the Netflix charts. It deals with the case of brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez, who were accused of murdering their parents. The portrayal of the two was not without criticism.
Now Lyle and Erik Menendez are getting the chance to tell their side of the story on Netflix. At least that’s what the new documentary The Menendez Brothers, for which a trailer has now been released, is advertising.

This is about the documentary The Menendez Brothers
The Netflix documentary is feature-length and the official synopsis is as follows:
In 1996, Lyle and Erik Menendez were convicted in one of the most high-profile criminal cases of the late 20th century for the murder of their parents. For the first time in 30 years, and in their own words, the two brothers reflect on the trial that shocked the nation. Through extensive audio interviews with Lyle and Erik, with lawyers who were involved in the trial, with journalists who covered it, with jurors, with family and with other informed observers, renowned Argentine director Alejandro Hartmann offers new insights and a fresh perspective on a case that people only thought they knew.
The trailer offers the first excerpts from interviews with the imprisoned brothers and could thus provide a counterpoint to the popular monster series. Its fictionalized version of the Menendez brothers has attracted criticism.
