Netflix is adding a really great fantasy film from 2023 to its program in a few days. Still, far too few people have seen it.
Not every great movie gets what it deserves. Film history is full of works that failed to achieve success despite being exciting, visually stunning or starring magnificent actors. This is also the case with a fantasy highlight from 2023, which will be released on Netflix in five days: Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
Coming soon to Netflix: Dungeons & Dragons is an endlessly entertaining fantasy ride
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves revolves around a narcissistic thief (Chris Pine) who breaks out of prison with a rough-and-tumble warrior (Michelle Rodriguez). Together with three other loyal followers, they want to put a stop to a devious magician (Hugh Grant) who stole from them during their last heist.

As the name suggests, the fantasy hit is set in the universe of the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game. The creators lovingly bring to life this legendary world with its fortresses, dungeons, enchanted landscapes and eccentric heroes.
The screenplay sparkles with wordplay, the action scenes are captivating, and the detailed set design creates a dense atmosphere. Directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (both screenwriters on Spider-Man: Homecoming) use a rhythm that makes the movie never get boring.
