New 1 in the Netflix charts: That’s what The Shaft 2 is about.
The story of the sequel ties in with the concept of The Shaft. This time, the main character Perempuan (Milena Smit) finds herself in a futuristic prison where prisoners are distributed in pairs over 333 floors of a vertical shaft. Once a day, a platform laden with a banquet descends from above. Those who eat well at the top leave little or no food for those below.
To ensure an equal and fair distribution of food, Perempuan wants to join the so-called lawkeepers with her cellmate Zamiatin (Hovik Keuchkerian). This group wants to enforce fair food distribution by force if necessary.
