Joker 2 is currently failing with critics and audiences. This is also expressed in a rating that was not even as bad as the mega-flop Morbius.
Sometimes clowns have nothing to laugh about. Joker 2: Folie à deux, sequel to an extremely successful predecessor, is panned by many critics. And the regular viewers are right up there with them: according to the Hollywood Reporter, audience members gave the film a worse rating than any other US comic book adaptation in the last 45 years. Including Morbius and Madame Web.
Joker 2 humiliation: Even Morbius and Madame Web got better grades
According to the report, Joker 2 received a so-called CinemaScore of D. In the US rating system from A to F, this corresponds to a 4 in this country. Not a disaster, some might say. But in fact the comparison is disastrous.

As the article explains, apparently no Hollywood comic book movie has ever received such a low CinemaScore. The grade is determined by rating cards that are distributed in cinemas in five randomly selected cities on the US release date. In addition to the pure rating, viewers can enter their age and gender, among other things. About 400 people per film are surveyed in this way.

CinemaScore carries a lot of weight for US cinema: for studios, it is considered a litmus test for the success or failure of a film, alongside the usual advance revenue estimates. Moviegoers decide whether to go to the movies based on the grade. It has existed since 1979, and never before has a Hollywood comic book adaptation received a D rating. Until now.
