The second season of The Night Agent is arriving later than many fans had hoped. But it is already certain that FBI agent Peter Sutherland’s story will continue in the third season.
A year and a half has passed since the Netflix premiere of The Night Agent. It has been known for a long time that the series will receive a second season. But when will the sequel to the action thriller arrive at the streamer? Hopes for an early start have now been finally dashed. But there is also good news.
When does The Night Agent Season 2 start on Netflix?
Many fans had hoped that The Night Agent would continue this year. Not least because Netflix itself had promised a release in 2024. Now, however, it is certain: Season 2 of The Night Agent will not start until winter 2025, so presumably sometime in the first few months of next year. We can expect ten new episodes that continue the story of FBI agent Peter Sutherland.
As a consolation and to bridge the long wait, Netflix has revealed two new images starring Gabriel Basso, who, before the massive success of The Night Agent, had already appeared in a Netflix original: the 2020 drama directed by Ron Howard, A Hillbilly Elegy.

There’s another message hidden in the Netflix Twitter post embedded above that should excite fans. No matter how long we have to wait for the second season of The Night Agent, we can now officially look forward to the third season. Netflix has great confidence in the series and has renewed it early.
Series creator Shawn Ryan comments on the current status of The Night Agent in the latest Netflix press release as follows:
We are very happy that our fans will be able to see season 2 of The Night Agent in early 2025. To ensure that we can soon deliver more breathtaking Peter Sutherland adventures to our amazing audience, we have also been working tirelessly on the script for season 3.
