In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns to the screen for the last time as Eddie Brock. The third part of the Marvel trilogy is supposed to end the story as a grand finale. However, as soon as the credits start rolling, it becomes clear that we are only at the beginning of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU for short).
There are two post-credit scenes at the end of Venom: The Last Dance, the first of which is a mid-credit scene that begins as soon as the most important names have been mentioned in the credits. For Marvel fans, this outlook in particular should be very exciting. It sets the future direction of the SSU.

The first post-credit scene of Venom 3 sets up Knull’s arrival in the Spider-Man universe
In the prologue of Venom: The Last Dance, we are introduced to Knull (Andy Serkis), the greatest villain of the SSU. Knull is the creator of the symbiotes and was tied to his throne on the planet Klyntar by his own children. Only with a mysterious codex can he escape this space prison.
So Knull sends his henchmen to get the codex, which brings the action to Earth. Eddie and Co. ultimately succeed in destroying the key to Knull’s prison. This is exactly where the first post-credit scene of the film begins: the villain is still sitting on his throne.
Basically, nothing has changed for Knull. Nevertheless, he insists on revenge with threatening words and promises to simply destroy all worlds. The short scene is very reminiscent of how Thanos came a little closer to conquering the world with every post-credit scene in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Apparently, the SSU is using the same tactics.
The big question is: where will Knull appear next if the Venom films have indeed come to an end with The Last Dance? The next film in the SSU is Kraven the Hunter, which will be released in German cinemas on December 12, 2024 and features the screen debut of the hunter played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
Since Kraven the Hunter has so far presented itself more as a grounded action thriller, it is questionable whether Knull fits into the film. However, another post-credit scene would definitely be conceivable. After that, Sony has not yet announced any further concrete plans for expanding the SSU. In addition to Venom, it is populated by Madame Web and Morbius.
Knull’s big promise of world destruction, however, suggests that we are far from reaching the end of the story. Rather, it looks as if Venom: The Last Dance and Kraven the Hunter mark the end of Phase 1 of the SSU. Now we can look forward to seeing what Sony has come up with for Phase 2.

In the very last seconds of the film, the bartender played by Ted Lasso star Cristo Fernández makes his way out of the wreckage of Area 55 and shakes his head in disbelief once more. The camera turns our attention to a cockroach moving towards a broken symbiote container.
