A new horror movie called Spiders has been released that will put people with arachnophobia to the test. No less than 200 real spiders were used in the filming.
Horrors movies have always had something to offer for people with arachnophobia. Among the most well-known films of this kind are works such as Arachnophobia or Arachnoid.
You can watch a new horror movie about spiders at the cinema that is really intense. The director of Spiders used real spiders on set to create a realistic horror. The result is a really successful genre film that also scores with other qualities.
Spiders is creepy with realistic spiders and goes much deeper
In the Parisian banlieues, Kaleb (Théo Christine) lives with his sister Manon (Lisa Nyarko) in the apartment left by their parents. While the siblings regularly quarrel, the main character prefers to take care of the exotic animals in his room. When he brings home a poisonous spider one day, the animal manages to escape from the shoe box. Chaos ensues, transforming the entire apartment building into a deadly quarantine zone.

With its truly gruesome spider scenes, director Sébastien Vanicek’s film turns into a pure nightmare for every arachnophobe. The depiction of the animals starts off quite realistically, but they become bigger and more monstrous with each offspring they leave behind.
But this escalation is not the only strength of Spiders – Their Bite is Death. With the young main characters, who have to deal with everyday problems in the socially disadvantaged areas, we get to see credible, multi-layered characters. Fortunately, Vanicek, who himself grew up in the banlieues, keeps a wide berth from dreary horror cliché figures.
Spiders – Your Bite is Death disgusts and creeps you out with increasingly bizarre monster spiders. But the oppression is just as great when police officers beat young people to keep them in check.
Spiders in a new horror movie were staged with real animals
It’s no coincidence that the animals in Vanicek’s film seem so real, especially at the beginning – they were. In an interview with The Daily Beast, the director revealed that there were 200 real examples of the particularly large huntsman spider on the set. For the later CGI versions, the real spiders were extensively studied by the team in order to make the artificial monsters’ movements as realistic as possible.
