The ingenious mystery thriller finally continues in 2025 and fans can hardly wait: “Like Avengers for LGBT people”

It took two years before the mystery thriller series Yellowjackets could continue. In 2025 we return to the wild.

For two seasons, the Showtime series Yellowjackets has already caused a stir and was often compared to the mystery classic Lost. But between the seasons, the waiting time is often long. So after the 2nd series chapter, another two years went by, but now we finally have a sign of life in the form of an announcement teaser:

As the short preview including a skull and wasps (after which the series is named) reveals, the third season of Yellowjackets will continue on February 14, 2025 – on Valentine’s Day. Instead of flowers and romance, however, viewers should expect to see gnawed fingernails and cannibalism on screen. In this country, the first two new episodes will be available to watch on Paramount+ on February 14.

Yellowjackets Season 3: Celebrity newcomer for the new episodes of the mystery thriller

In the series Yellowjackets, we get a survival thriller told in two time periods: in 1996, a high school girls’ soccer team crashes in a plane over Canada and fights for 19 months for survival. 25 years later, the survivors are still struggling with the consequences of this traumatic experience.

The third season welcomes double Oscar winner Hilary Swank (Alaska Daily) and Joel McHale (Community) to the cast. According to TVLine, Swank even has the chance to join the main cast if Yellowjackets is renewed for a fourth season.

The only thing that could prevent that is a lack of viewers, not a lack of popularity. At Rotten Tomatoes, the series has an impressive Tomatometer rating of 96 percent, while Moviepilot has a community rating of 7.

Die-hard fans, of course, can hardly wait until Valentine’s Day 2025. One person writes on X under the teaser trailer: “It’s like Avengers for LGBT people!”
