After being repeatedly postponed, the time has finally come in 2025: the crazy sci-fi adventure Mickey 17 by Parasite director Bong Joon-ho is coming to cinemas. Robert Pattinson plays the expendable worker Mickey, who is sent to colonize an ice planet. Whenever he is killed, a new clone of himself is simply awakened. 3rd most anticipated movie of 2025: Avatar 3
At the end of 2025, James Cameron is following up his science fiction epic on the planet Pandora and once again visually demonstrates what cinema can do in Avatar 3: Fire and Ash. After exploring the forest in Avatar (2009) and the water in Avatar 2: The Way of Water (2022), the first concept images for part 3 already showed nomadic air tribes of the Na’vi, but not yet the opposing clan of the fiery Ash People.

2nd place most anticipated movies 2025: Nosferatu
Nosferatu – The Undead is the remake of the 102-year-old fantasy horror film Nosferatu, a symphony of horror with which F.W. Murnau brazenly made his own unauthorized Dracula copy in 1922. Director Robert Eggers has already proven his flair for thrilling and eerie works with atmospheric films such as The Witch, The Lighthouse and The Northman, and so the reviews from overseas have already celebrated his new version of the vampire classic as a “mesmerizing, macabre masterpiece”.

Number 1 of the most anticipated films of 2025: 28 Years Later
The fact that the recently released first trailer broke viewership records should make it clear: After 28 Days Later (2002) and 28 Weeks Later (2007), many horror fans are looking forward to seeing how the post-apocalyptic world in which zombie-like infected people became a danger when they ran will continue in 28 Years Later in 2025. Especially since Danny Boyle (Trainspotting) returned to the franchise after Part 1 and once again wrote the script with Alex Garland (Civil War).

Theatrical release: June 19, 2025
During the course of 2025, other highlights will surely be added that no one currently has on their radar. We have left out films such as Riddick 4: Furya and The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection, which have been noted with great interest but whose release in 2025 is not yet certain.
