ProSieben actually wanted to establish a real competitor to RTL and Stefan Raab with TV total – But with Guest. However, the cult show’s spin-off has now been put on hold for an indefinite period.
At the end of November, TV total – Aber mit Gast started and was supposed to become the big competitor to Stefan Raab’s ambitions at RTL. But now ProSieben has announced that the Pufpaff show will be replaced tonight – and for a long time.
TV total – Aber mit Gast: The answer to Stefan Raab?
TV total – Aber mit Gast is a very simple concept: Sebastian Pufpaff sat in his TV total studio and invited a wide variety of guests. At the same time, he asked them spicy questions. Pufpaff was joined by guests such as Bushido, Stefan Mross and Thorsten Legat.
But on January 27, the last TV total pre-prime-time show was aired – but with a guest. Tonight, Comedy Allstars will replace Pufpaff’s show. Episodes for the spin-off have been pre-recorded and will still be broadcast. It is not yet known what will happen to the show after that.
Sebastian Pufpaff: The last few weeks have seen a slump in ratings
The ratings of TV total and the now-pausing spin-off have been in decline in recent weeks. The cancellation of TV total – Aber mit Gast will therefore mean a major setback for ProSieben – especially if Stefan Raab takes off as a direct competitor in free TV next week.
But for TV total, things will continue as usual. The show with Sebastian Pufpaff airs every Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. on ProSieben and Joyn. Earlier episodes can also be viewed on demand on the streaming provider.
