It was only last year that Martin Wernicke surprised everyone with his departure from “Berlin – Tag & Nacht”. Now he is celebrating his TV comeback in another daily series.
After almost 13 years, Martin Wernicke’s time with Berlin – Tag & Nacht came to an end: he left the series unexpectedly in 2024. The actor has played the role of teacher Basti Heuer since the beginning and was particularly popular for his authentic Berlin manner. Wernicke took a break from acting for about a year, but now he’s back in front of the camera. Find out in which series you can see him here.
“Didn’t know about it”: Wernicke left Berlin – Tag & Nacht not entirely voluntarily
At the time, Martin Wernicke told kukksi that he – like the fans – was not prepared for his exit:
In principle, it was not my decision to end the role. The production and the broadcaster decided that the role of Basti was over. I knew nothing about it and was somewhat surprised myself.
However, he emphasized that he would have pulled the ripcord himself sooner or later, because he no longer agreed with some situations. “Since I’ve gotten out, I can say that I’m doing a lot better, both physically and mentally.” After such a long time on a show, other challenges await him as well. He assured his community that they will see him again elsewhere.

It shouldn’t take too long before his fans see him on TV again. The actor just posted a picture on Instagram showing him together with Ingo Lenßen. Lenßen is known for his scripted reality show Lenßen hilft (formerly Lenßen und Partner).
The ex-BTN actor wrote about the photo: “After almost a year, I finally stood in front of the camera again today. I’d like it to continue like this.” However, he did not reveal when exactly he will be seen in the series.
