Harry Potter star Emma Watson had a huge crush on one of her co-stars on set – but her affection remained unrequited.
Not only did Harry Potter and his friends have to deal with unexpected feelings, but so did their actors and actresses. Actress Emma Watson confessed that she had a crush on a co-star on set.
Emma Watson was in love with Tom Felton
As Ladbible summarized in September 2024, the Harry Potter actress had a huge crush on a very specific co-star. Watson had already confessed to this in 2012 as a guest on The Jonathan Ross Show:
Between the ages of ten and twelve, I had a terrible crush on Tom Felton. It got so bad that I would go to work in the morning and check the answering machine to see if he would be there.
Tom Felton played Harry Potter’s nemesis Draco Malfoy.
When asked why she had a crush on him, Watson replied:
We love a villain, he was a few years older and had a skateboard – and that’s about it.
However, her feelings were not reciprocated:
He knew full well that I had a crush on him, and the problem was that he told everyone, ‘I see her in a younger, sisterly way,’ and that just broke my heart. It still does.
The confession of the former Hermione Granger actress comes at this point with a wink.
Friendship between Watson and Felton was strong
Because the two apparently developed a friendly relationship through their work together on Harry Potter.
In 2022, after the publication of his book Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard, Felton referred to his former co-star as a good friend.
Even if it didn’t come to a romance, there is at least a friendly bond between Emma Watson and Tom Felton that continues many years after the end of the Harry Potter film series.
