In Die Brautentführung (The Bride Kidnapping), Pastewka slips into the role of Fabian, an impostor who has had little luck in his life so far. When he unexpectedly finds himself in a wedding party, however, he senses a great opportunity: would anyone notice if the wedding gift to the bride were to go missing?
However, things are not quite that simple. Because before Fabian knows it, a dead body appears in the garden pavilion and the invited guests panic. And then, of all people, he, the swindler, becomes a key figure in the resolution of the mysterious murder case, which will completely change his life forever.

The film is being directed by Markus Sehr, who, thanks to his involvement in Mord mit Aussicht, is very familiar with amusing crime stories. He has also directed various Pastewka episodes. The script was written by Martin Eigler, Lars Neuwöhner, Sven S. Poser and Judy Horney. The film is currently being shot in Latvia and Lithuania.
When does The Bride’s Abduction start on Amazon Prime?
Since filming is still in progress, it will be several months before The Bride’s Abduction premieres on Amazon Prime. We expect the film to be released on the streamer sometime in 2026.
