Recently, the weekly release of The Rookie season 6 ended on Disney+. When can we expect season 7 and where can we already watch it?
In Germany, The Rookie is available from almost all major streaming providers such as Netflix, Amazon and WOW – albeit with different numbers of seasons. On Disney+, the episodes of the abbreviated sixth season were added to the program weekly starting in December 2024. We speculate when more episodes will be added.
When will The Rookie season 7 come to Disney+?
If you prefer to stream The Rookie on Disney+, you’ll have to be patient for quite a while. Since season 6 only started on Disney+ at the end of 2024, we assume that season 7 will not come to Disney+ until the end of 2025 at the earliest.
But there is also good news. If you change your streamer, you can find it now.
Where can I watch The Rookie Season 7 now?
The Rookie season 7 started in the US in early January 2025 and since January 24, 2025, the new episodes have also been available to stream weekly in German on WOW *. So for the brand new The Rookie episodes, whether in English or German, you need a WOW subscription.
You can already find the first six episodes of season 7 in German and two more in the original English version. The original version always appears two weeks earlier than the synchronization.
How does season 7 continue?
Season 7 starts where season 6 left off. The LAPD is still looking for escaped felons Jason Wyler (Steve Kazee), the ex-husband of Bailey Nune (Jenna Dewan), and his breakout partner Oscar Hutchinson (Matthew Glave). This leads to some tension between the couple John (Nathan Fillion) and Bailey, who uses not-so-legal methods of crime fighting.
Other major storylines involve the two new rookies assigned to Tim (Eric Winter) and Lucy (Melissa O’Neil), as well as Tim and Lucy themselves. You see, sparks are still flying at Chenford after their painful breakup. Tim actor Eric Winter has finally explained why the two really broke up in The Rookie season 6.
By the way, Netflix subscribers get the least out of it. We’ve been waiting in vain for more than a year. Four seasons are available. Even on free TV at ZDFneo and in the ZDF media library, season 5 is already available and, most recently, season 6 as well.
