Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf have been among Germany’s most successful TV entertainers for 15 years. Now ProSieben has made a clear statement: This is how it should continue for the duo.
Joko and Klaas have been among Germany’s most popular moderators since 2011 and have made a significant contribution to the television landscape as we know it today with their hit shows. They have moved away from the stiff suit glamor of the 80s and towards relaxed entertainment with humor and wit.
The two exceptionally talented presenters have become so intertwined with ProSieben that it’s hard to imagine how the channel could manage without its unlikely duo. ProSieben has now decided on the future of Joko and Klaas.
“More often nothing new”: Klaas Heufer-Umlauf jokes about his future at ProSieben
This news should not really come as a surprise: ProSieben has just announced that the two stars have extended their exclusive contracts by an incredible five years (!). This means that the successful duo will be with us at least until 2030.
ProSieben is happy to have made a “long-term pact for a successful future”. Joko and Klaas can continue to do what they do best: produce new, exciting show concepts to entertain the audience. And, as experience has shown, the station will again give them a free hand to develop creatively. For Klaas, nothing will change. “More of the same!” he humorously comments on the news.
Henrik Pabst, the head of broadcasting at ProSieben, speaks very highly of the duo: “Joko and Klaas, with their production company, […] are among the most important and creative television makers in Germany.” He emphasizes that they stand for “modern entertainment” and demonstrate a “clear attitude.” Wow, the two of them must love hearing such praise from their boss. The channel is likely to be happy to secure such high-caliber talent in the current situation, as RTL is increasingly on a collision course.
Joko and Klaas on ProSieben: What’s next?
Joko Winterscheidt is currently thrilling audiences with Wer stiehlt mir die Show? The wacky show airs on Sundays at 8:15 p.m. on ProSieben. But in March, viewers will also be able to see a brand-new idea from the duo. Starting on Saturday, March 22, 2025, a new quiz show with the unwieldy name: A Very Good Quiz (with a Big Prize) will debut. Fans can look forward to action, mystery, and humor.
