In his private life, the muscleman is a huge fan of the tabletop strategy game Warhammer 40,000, whose complex mythology is much more extensive than simple science fiction with a crew on a spaceship flying through space just a few hundred years into the future.

When does the Amazon series Warhammer 40K start on Amazon?
Since the series is still in the early stages of development, a release date is not yet foreseeable. However, it should not be expected before the end of 2026 or 2027. After all, the Warhammer 40,000 series cleared a major hurdle in December 2024, after it was on the brink of cancellation and then officially sent into development (via Deadline ). Warhammer 40K takes place 38,000 years in a distant, unforgiving future. Mankind is ruled by an immortal god-emperor and must fight tirelessly for its existence in the face of cosmic threats. Religious fanaticism and a strict caste system characterize everyday life in this dystopia. Many stories of this futuristic world of war revolve around genetically modified Space Marines – war monks operating in heavy armor, also known as Adeptus Astartes. Fallout fans have already seen something similar on Amazon with the Steel Brotherhood.
In addition to humans in various modified variants, 40K also features dark deities from unimaginable dimensions, bizarre aliens such as the world-devouring Tyranids, bloodthirsty Orks, or the ancient Necron machine warriors, whose goal is to conquer the entire galaxy.
Who is starring in the Warhammer 40K series?
Of course, mega-fan Henry Cavill will not miss the opportunity to appear personally in his Warhammer series. The role of a genetically manipulated Space Marine would suit him well, but it has not been officially confirmed, nor has the rest of the cast. However, we will keep you up to date at this point.
Who is behind the Warhammer 40,000 series
MGM Studios acquired the series rights to 40K from the game manufacturer Games Workshop, whereupon a mini-writers’ room was opened to develop the material according to strict specifications. It is not currently known who will be part of this team alongside Henry Cavill. On the producer side, Roy Lee and Natalie Viscuso of Vertigo Entertainment have always been involved. In the official statement, Cavill said:
My incredible team and I have been working in concept rooms with the brilliant minds at Games Workshop to break down approaches to the enormity and splendor of the Warhammer world. Together, we sifted through the plethora of incredible characters and pored over ancient tomes and texts. Our combined efforts have led us to a fantastic starting point for our universe, which the leaders at Amazon and Games Workshop have agreed on.
Neither the directing staff nor the screenwriter have been officially revealed at this time.

No, the project is still in its early stages, so there is no concept art, official images, let alone trailers for the sci-fi saga from the distant future. However, we will constantly update this page for you, so that images and moving images will appear here sooner or later.
Currently circulating images on the net come from one of the earlier Warhammer projects or (as in this example) from one of the many 40K video games.
How do you actually play Warhammer 40,000?
To play the Warhammer 40K tabletop strategy game faithfully, i.e. not on the computer, you need maps with obstacles and various miniatures from the Games Workshop range. In turns and phases, players maneuver their characters and units across the field and, if necessary, fight each other, with a complex role-playing point system involving dice and tables deciding the outcome. Since the set-up is so elaborate, many fans play directly in designated stores where the equipment can be purchased.
