The seventh season of the time travel romance Outlander only started on US television in January of this year – and is already available to stream on Netflix here.
Good news for Outlander fans with a Netflix subscription: Season 7 of the romantic time travel fantasy has already found its way into the streaming service’s program. This means that the 16 new episodes are available much earlier than previous seasons, which otherwise only came onto the market leader’s service a year after their German premiere.
Just last week, we showed you how to get season 7 of the series on your screen as a rental or purchase.
Outlander season 7 on Netflix: what happens next with Claire and Jamie
In the penultimate season of Outlander, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) continue their struggle for survival during the American Revolution. As political tensions escalate, they face personal challenges that put their relationship to the ultimate test. The novels A Breath of Snow and Ashes and A Shadow of Betrayal and Love by author Diana Gabaldon served as a template for this.
New to the cast of characters in the 7th season of Outlander are Jamie’s secret son William Ransom (Charles Vandervaart) and siblings Rachel (Izzy Meikle-Small) and Denzell Hunter (Joey Phillips). Jenny Murray has been recast and is now played by Kristin Atheton instead of Laura Donnelly.
The showrunner of the series is Ronald D. Moore, who is otherwise known for sci-fi series such as Star Trek and especially Battlestar Galactica.
What about the future of Outlander?
The eighth and final season of Outlander will be shown on the US channel Starz during 2025. There will be ten final episodes to see there. But that’s not the end of the Outlander cosmos – with the spin-off Outlander: Blood of My Blood, a spin-off is coming our way that tells of the parents of the two main characters.
Jamie’s parents Ellen and Brian are then portrayed by Harriet Slater and Jamie Roy, while Claire’s parents Julia and Henry are portrayed by Hermione Corfield and Jeremy Irvine.
