After 3 seasons, the equally celebrated and controversial hit series True Detective has reinvented itself with the current 4th season. For the first time, creator Nic Pizzolatto was no longer involved in directing and writing. Instead, all episodes of True Detective: Night Country were co-written and directed by Mexican Issa López.
Among others, Jodie Foster can be seen in front of the camera in her first series role in 50 years. In an interview, the star actress was asked about two films that everyone should know. One of her answers is more than surprising, but also not necessarily 100 percent serious:

In an interview with Interview Magazine, the actress first said that last year’s Oscar winner Everything Everywhere All at Once is a movie that everyone should have seen. This choice is not surprising, as the wacky mix of multiverse action and touching family story landed at the top of several best of the year lists in 2022.
Much more surprising is the movie Foster names after that:
Oh, and this is probably number one – the puppet movie Team America: World Police.
Although the actress says afterwards that she is known for her sense of humor and doesn’t necessarily mean the answer entirely seriously, it is surprising that Foster comes up with this film of all things.
