The Acolyte: This is what the new Star Wars series is all about
The Acolyte is set at the end of the High Republic, an era regarded as the golden age of the Jedi. The story takes place around 100 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
According to the official description from StarWars.com, the “mystery thriller” is about “the investigation into a series of crimes that bring a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-Jae) into conflict with a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As more and more clues emerge, they embark on a dark path where sinister forces reveal that all is not as it seems. “

The Acolyte is the brainchild of showrunner and author Leslye Headland, who caused a stir with her series Matryoshka on Netflix. Amandla Stenberg (Rue from The Hunger Games), Squid Game lead actor Lee Jung-jae, Dafne Keen from Logan – The Wolverine, Murder Mystery 2 Countess Jodie Turner-Smith and Matrix star Carrie-Anne Moss are in front of the camera. Wookiee enthusiasts can look forward to Joonas Suotamo, who already played Chewbacca in the sequels and Solo: A Star Wars Story and now plays a Wookiee Jedi Master
