Netflix is expanding its program with a new action thriller set during the Second World War. Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard can be seen in the leading roles.
Allied is director Robert Zemeckis’ 18th feature film. But it is also the first to deal with espionage and war. Actor Brad Pitt, on the other hand, already has experience with the subject from films such as Heart of Steel, Inglourious Basterds and Seven Years in Tibet.
This gives the drama a good foundation. Anyone who is a big fan of films such as Casablanca and Journey from the Past should definitely not miss Allied on Netlix
Allied on Netflix: 2 spies fall in love during the Second World War
The story of Allied revolves around the relationship between Max Vatan (Brad Pitt) and Marianne Beauséjour (Marion Cotillard). Vatan is a Canadian intelligence officer, while Beauséjour is a French Resistance fighter. The two are given the task of assassinating the German ambassador to Morocco. The film is partly set in the Moroccan city of Casablanca.

After their mission, the two decide to lead a life together. Beauséjour gives birth to their daughter Anna during a bombing raid. But it turns out that Vatan’s wife could be a double agent, making him an accomplice of the Germans. The spy therefore decides to find out who his wife really is.
