Fans of the adventures of the Straw Hat Gang can not only watch the anime and real-life series on Netflix. The pirates’ 15th movie is now also online.
Since April 1, 2024, even landlubbers have been able to capture a genuine anime highlight in the streaming waters of Netflix. This is One Piece: Red, the 15th cinematic adventure with the Straw Hat Gang from One Piece. This not only became the sixth most successful anime film of all time, but also the sixth most successful Japanese film ever.
For local Netflix subscribers, the title is available in the German dub or in the original Japanese with optional subtitles.
Anime newcomer on Netflix: What’s One Piece: Red about?
For the first concert of the famous singer Uta, it’s not just the Straw Hat Gang that travels to the music island of Elegia. Other pirate crews and even the navy are attracted by her legendary voice, which is said to be out of this world. The curtain rises and it turns out that Uta is the daughter of Rothaar Shanks. Big Mom’s henchmen then try to kidnap the diva, but with the power of the singing fruit on her side, she is not so easy to capture. A buccaneer-style musical adventure takes its course.

One Piece: Red was written by Tsutomu Kuroiwa and directed by Goro Taniguchi. Franchise captain and manga author Eiichiro Oda was on board as a producer and consultant for the project, which was announced in 2021 to celebrate the 1000th episode of the anime series
