One of the visual trademarks of Marvel hero Thor is his voluminous cape. For years, actor Chris Hemsworth wore the shred of fabric as part of his costume, but now he has shocked us with a revelation: he never liked the Thor cape. This is all the more bitter as he got it right back as an accessory for his current role as the villain in the upcoming blockbuster Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
Thor star Chris Hemsworth finds capes impractical
As our Spanish sister site VidaExtra reports, based on an Entertainment Weekly interview with Hemsworth and Furiosa actress Anya Taylor-Joy, the actor has a downright hatred for the flowing garment:
‘Hate them. So impractical. […] In Thor, there was [a cape] that was about a foot shorter than the normal cape, for fighting, because you were constantly tripping over it. So impractical. […]

In the Entertainment Weekly interview, he also talks about how he was often trapped in doors with the Thor cape. Hemsworth’s joy was therefore probably not the greatest when he was presented with the costume for his villain Dementus in Furiosa. It looks like this:
