Sylvester Stallone lights up his cigar again to return as mob capo Dwight Manfredi for Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. Now there’s also a big trailer for Tulsa King season 2
Series creator Taylor Sheridan has not only revived Western love in many places with the Yellowstone universe, but also has a heart for action thrillers and gangster entertainment. In addition to series such as Special Ops: Lioness and Mayor Of Kingstown, he created Tulsa King two years ago and made Sylvester Stallone a mobster in it. Now the trailer for season 2 announces the big return later this year
Yellowstone alternative: Sylvester Stallone shakes up the province as a mobster in Tulsa King season 2
Taylor Sheridan likes to use long-established stars in his main series roles: what Kevin Costner was for Yellowstone, Sylvester Stallone became for Tulsa King. There was also a dispute behind the scenes there recently, but now season 2 is finally just around the corner.
In the first season of Tulsa King, ex-gangster Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone) was released from prison after 25 years and deported to the provinces by his former New York co-mafiosi. But instead of retiring, the aged criminal built a new empire with a new crew in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In season 2, however, the neighboring Kansas City mafia does not agree with this gain in power. In addition, an influential businessman sets his sights on Manfredi. Suddenly he has to fight on several fronts
Sylvester Stallone is back: Watch the trailer for season 2 of Tulsa King here
Two years ago, season 1 drew its great appeal not only from the action, but also from its dry humor: because Stallone’s tradition-conscious mobster had spent a quarter of a century behind bars, he was no longer familiar with many modern devices and the rules of the changed world. Season 2 seems to pick up on this when the old gangster has no idea about wind turbines and asks his chauffeur to swap his pyjamas (tracksuit) for a real suit.
In addition to lead actor Sylvester Stallone, the cast of the second season of Tulsa King also includes stars such as Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy), Martin Starr (Silicone Valley), Frank Grillo (The Purge 2), Andrea Savage (Step Brothers) and Neal McDonough (Band of Brothers).
