Es-Bösewicht Bill Skarsgård tritt in schreckliche Fußstapfen
For his new film, Robert Eggers is drawing some big comparisons even before it’s even hit theaters. On the one hand, there is the original, Nosferatu, a symphony of horror from 1922. Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau’s silent film is considered one of the most important horror films of all time – with Max Schreck in the leading role as the iconic villain (who was even the subject of his own film, Shadow of the Vampire). Then Werner Herzog also took on the material with Nosferatu – Phantom of the Night and cast Klaus Kinski in the bloodsucker role. Not to mention the numerous related Dracula films…
Now Es villain Bill Skarsgård will follow in the footsteps of Schreck and Kinski to stretch out his undead fingers as Count Orlok to the young Ellen Hutter (Lily-Rose Depp), while her husband Thomas (Nicholas Hoult) is drawn into his spell.
