A movie on Netflix that is far too unknown: 82 minutes of claustrophobic getaway driver action

There’s a relentlessly wicked action movie on Netflix. It has a special feature that significantly adds to the suspense. Breakneck rides included.

Baby Driver is probably the most famous getaway driver movie of recent years, but you probably don’t know this one: the rugged leading actor Frank Grillo makes it a much more rustic counterpart with a crisp 82 minutes. In Wheelman, Jeremy Rush’s glossy look gives way to harsh reality.

Wheelman is hidden deep in the Netflix catalog and can be streamed there with a subscription.

That’s what the getaway driver action Wheelman on Netflix is about.

Wheelman (Frank Grillo) is betrayed after being used as a getaway driver in a bank robbery. He receives conflicting instructions from his employers via the car’s intercom, and it soon becomes clear that he has been betrayed. He sets out on a search for his adversary in a series of brutal car chases.

Wheelman doesn’t leave his car 90 percent of the time. He simply doesn’t have time for footpaths and it’s safer in the car when bullets are flying anyway. This makes the movie incredibly exciting – we only see as much as the titular driver. Claustrophobia, but also the proximity to the main character, who is in a state of constant stress, make watching the movie a sweat-inducing experience. Wheelman keeps getting new information on his hands-free system. He has to act quickly, and neither he nor we have time to catch our breath.
