While it’s still playing in the cinema: You can watch one of the horror highlights of 2022 while it’s still in the cinema.

It’s both one of the best and most successful horror films of 2022 so far. Two months after its release, however, you can still experience “Nope” not only on the big screen, but now already in your home cinema.

“Nope” grossed over 170 million dollars and – as is now almost typical for a horror film by Jordan Peele (“Get Out”, “We”) – triggered a real hype, especially in the United States. But it is not only the trade press and audiences from his home country that have plenty of praise for the mix of scary genre cinema and visually stunning blockbuster set in the Santa Clarita Valley: The official FILMSTARTS review of “Nope” not only gave it a strong 4 out of 5 possible stars. On top of that, author Björn Becher also refers to the film as “Jaws in the desert”. A comparison that is tantamount to an homage – after all, Steven Spielberg’s shark classic is still one of the great moments of horror cinema after almost 50 years.

“Nope” is an “absolute must-see in the cinema – and on the biggest possible screen with the best possible sound system”, our review also says. For Jordan Peele’s latest horror tale is not least a visual delight, whose impact comes into its own above all. Just two months after its theatrical release, you can now watch “Nope” at home – as a stream, for example, on Amazon Prime Video:

If you enjoy discomfort and horror primarily within your own four walls, where you have peace and quiet from potential troublemakers who are currently ruining numerous “Smile” screenings, you can now catch up on “Nope” in your home cinema. The film is currently available for purchase from 9.99 euros as video-on-demand. The cheaper digital rental version will then be released parallel to DVD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray Steelbook and 4K Blu-ray on 10 November.

But whether in the cinema or at home, with “Nope” you can expect a piece of film that is as intimate as it is imposing, bowing to the often cheap monster and UFO conspiracy film – and doing so in as bombastic a way as is possible.

“NOPE”: HORROR SPECTACLE WITH SURPRISE EFFECT

Jordan Peele once again manages to catch his audience on the wrong foot with “Nope” and really surprise them with one or two revelations. That’s why we don’t want to reveal too much about the content at this point. Instead, we recommend that you simply give yourself over to the story and its mysteries. It is worth it.

This much we can reveal: “Nope” revolves around the horse farm owners OJ (Daniel Kaluuya) and Em (Keke Palmer), who one night observe a mysterious phenomenon that they cannot explain. As the mysterious events accumulate, they decide to get to the bottom of their origin…

By the way: In just one week there will be more from Jordan Peele. In the stop-motion horror comedy “Wendell & Wild” (from 28 October 2022 exclusively on Netflix) by “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Coraline” creator Henry Selick, he is on board as scriptwriter, producer and voice actor…
