“The Addams Family 2” background, cast and theatrical release
Two years after the animated remake of the already much filmed material, the next Addams adventure is already coming to the cinemas. Greg Tirnan (“Charlie” , “Sausage Party”) is once again in the director’s chair, assisted by Laura Brousseau and Kevin Pavlovic. Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, who already worked as a writing duo on “Pókemon Master Detective Pikachu”, are responsible for the script this time.
The dubbing cast is based on continuity, and most of the voice actors from the first film will also be heard in the sequel, such as Charlize Theron, Oscar Isaac, Chloe Grace Moretz and Nick Kroll. New are Javon Walton (“Euphoria”), who replaces Finn Wolfhard and lends his voice to Pugsley, as well as Bill Hader in the role of Cyrus, whose character has not yet been explained in detail. It is currently not confirmed whether the previous German dubbing cast will also be available again.
A large part of the production can probably also be managed under the security measures during the corona pandemic, so that “The Addams Family 2” can open in German cinemas on schedule on 18 November 2021.
