Awarded a Golden Globe and nominated for three Oscars: this action-packed thriller is well worth watching and will really test your nerves.
The premise of Express to Hell is simple but effective: a train races inexorably to its doom. Do you already know this from Speed and Co.? Not like here. This extremely exciting action hit is particularly thrilling because of its unusual characters, who you can meet on TV today.
Express in die Hölle today on TV: The fast-paced story sees two escaped prisoners encounter a steel beast
A high-security prison in Alaska suffers under the evil director, who predicts to inmate Manny that he will only leave this prison as a corpse. But the inmate, together with the younger Buck, actually manages to break out. In the depths of winter, they flee through the snowy countryside.
The two fugitives’ supposed rescue turns out to be a train that they discover in a station. They board the train as stowaways and head for freedom. Unfortunately, the train consists of four coupled locomotives and the engine driver has suffered a heart attack.
This action classic is a real firework of suspense, but the real stars are the characters
What later works brilliantly in Speed also works extremely well here. The wild ride and the confined space also create extreme tension in Express to Hell. Especially because the train threatens to derail several times – and that would cause a fatal environmental disaster, especially near a chemical plant.
But Jon Voight and Eric Roberts make a real exception out of the movie. The two hard-boiled anti-heroes don’t mince their words and work quite differently from the classic characters in similar action thrillers. They curse, fight and suffer in a thrilling way, even though they are not necessarily likeable.
Mission: Impossible 8 offers even more thrilling action scenes. In the new trailer, Tom Cruise plunges into the ocean in one of his daring stunts. This could be the best action movie of the year.
