Another week has passed and the next one is just around the corner. With it, all kinds of new films and series await us again on Netflix. We introduce you to the (potential) highlights – including “Manifest” season 2.
Every week we give you an overview of the most exciting films and series that will find their way to Netflix in the next seven days. The whole thing is always particularly productive when a change of month falls in the period under consideration, as the streaming service always adds a lot of films at the beginning of the month, including on Tuesday, 1 November. But on the other days, too, we can expect potential candidates for the watch list, first and foremost the sequels to the Netflix hit “Enola Holmes” and the mystery series “Manifest”.

MONDAY: SERIES UPDATE FROM THE “SHERLOCK” MAKERS
While there will probably be no more episodes of the hit series “Sherlock”, the makers are meanwhile devoting themselves to all kinds of other projects. The latest one by “Sherlock” co-creator Steven Moffat is called “Inside Man” and also features a well-known cast with Stanley Tucci (“In My Heaven”) and “Doctor Who” David Tennant.
It centres on a man sentenced to death (Tucci) who helps a young British journalist find her missing friend – a complex case that somehow also seems to involve an unassuming priest (Tennant).
TUESDAY: FILM REVIEW FULL
Tuesday. After Netflix threw out all kinds of licensed films again at the end of the month on Monday, the resulting gap will be filled again at the new beginning of the month. Young adult fans can look forward to the complete “Tribute to Panem” series. Meanwhile, the boxer biopic “The Fighter”, for which Christian Bale and Melissa Leo were awarded supporting actor Oscars, offers great acting cinema.
In addition, the award-winning ARD adaptation of the scandalous 1988 “Gladbeck” hostage drama is now finding its way to Netflix four years after its first broadcast. Meanwhile, lovers of intriguing series about spoiled teenagers can shorten the wait for the sixth season of “Elite” with the second season of “Young Royals”.
Another special treat is the biopic “King Richard” about the family of tennis sisters Venus and Serena Williams, which was only released in cinemas here this year and not only brought lead actor Will Smith an Oscar, but also a lot of negative headlines with the slap scandal at this year’s coveted film award ceremony.
WEDNESDAY: FINALLY NEW EPISODES OF “THE PRINCE OF DRAGONS “
After the first three seasons went on in quick succession, the many fans of the celebrated fantasy animation series “The Prince of Dragons” have been kept on tenterhooks for the fourth season for three (!) years. But the wait is finally over: In the nine new episodes of the current project by former “Avatar – Lord of the Elements” head writer Aaron Ehasz, the conflict between the human kingdoms and the magical world of Xadia goes into the next round.
If you are more in the mood for material from this world, you will also be served the next true-crime documentary series from Netflix on Wednesday with “Killer Sally”. At the centre: bodybuilder Sally McNeil, who was convicted in 1996 for the murder of her husband on Valentine’s Day of all days.
THURSDAY : COMEDY FOR VIDEO STORE FANS
Thursday gets nostalgic with the comedy series “Blockbuster”, which revives the passion for the almost extinct video store landscape. The pivotal point is the last branch of the Blockbuster video store chain, once widespread in the USA, for whose preservation the manager (Randall Park) still fights tenaciously despite massive streaming competition and private turbulence.
FRIDAY: “ENOLA HOLMES” AND “MANIFEST” CONTINUE
On Friday, Netflix has sequels up its sleeve for not one but two of the streaming service’s particularly popular titles. Firstly, there is “Enola Holmes 2”, in which the titular sister (“Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown) of master detective Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill) finally officially takes on her own cases as a private investigator. The disappearance of a girl, which at first seems harmless, soon puts her on the trail of a far-reaching conspiracy, which she can only get to the bottom of together with her famous brother.
The fourth season of the mystery series “Manifest” is also awaited with particular excitement. After its premature cancellation by the US broadcaster NBC, it enjoyed enormous popularity on Netflix after the streaming service included it in its portfolio. This ultimately convinced the provider to produce a fourth and final season itself to bring the story about the passengers of an aeroplane who apparently travelled through time to a conclusion. The first ten episodes of the final season will now be released on Friday, with the remaining ten to follow at a later date.
