“Loki” Season 1 saw the first appearance of the big new MCU villain Kang (Jonathan Majors, still here as “He Who Remains”). So will the real Kang then become the villain of “Loki” Season 2? It’s obviously not quite that simple.
In “Loki” Season 1, the title character played by Tom Hiddleston went on a search for the masterminds behind the Time Variance Authority (TVA) and came across a mysterious man named “The One Who Remains” (Jonathan Majors) in the last episode. He is killed in the finale, but as a result a much more familiar, powerful and ruthless version of “He Who Remains” takes power over the TVA: Kang.
This is revealed by the statues Loki discovers upon his return to TVA headquarters. So is Kang not only the villain of “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania” and “Avengers 5: The Kang Dynasty”, but also the antagonist of the second season “Loki”? That would be logical after the first season, but apparently things are not quite that simple…
As US industry magazine Deadline reveals, “Game Of Thrones” star Kate Dickie (known as Lysa Arryn) will play a villain in “Loki” season 2. Adding to this information is insider MyTimeToShineHello, who is usually very well-informed, writing on Twitter that Dickie will not only play a villain, but even the main villain of season 2.
Glad it’s finallly out. Now I can tell you she’s playing the main villain of season 2 https://t.co/uCD2MQyPlI

Kang will still be in “Loki” Season 2, according to reports and first released clips from episode 2, but just apparently not as the main villain. It is unclear how big his role will be. But this article is supposed to be about Kate Dickie’s character anyway – and she seems to be quite interesting.
The usually well-informed site Illuminerdi reports that Kate Dickie plays an older version of Sylvie. The main villain of “Loki” season 2 would thus be an older, female version of Loki himself (after all, Sylvie is a variant of Loki).
image-Kate Dickie (left) is said to be in “Loki” Season 2In Season 1, Sophia Di Martino was on board as Sylvie Laufeydottir and Di Martino will play that role again in Season 2. In addition, however, we apparently also see an older Sylvie who has finally turned villain. Considering that her murder of “He Who Remains” at the end of Season 1 has already unleashed Kang and the Marvel multiverse, this development is actually only logical.
So we are quite willing to believe the reports on the identity of Dickie’s character and her important role, even if we want to emphasise here again that they are only rumours for now. Whether Dickie really plays an older Sylvie and her character is the main villain of the season, we will find out in mid-2023 when “Loki” Season 2 starts on Disney+.
