“Under the Stars of Paris” – background, cast, cinema release
It is a difficult as well as complex subject that director Claus Drexel (“Au Bord Du Monde”) tackles in “Under the Stars of Paris”. The filmmaker, who lives in France, was completely inspired by the fates of the homeless in Paris and France, sought dialogue in order to stage their lives with dignity.
At the same time, he sought contact with migrants and developed the idea for the script together with Olivier Brunhes according to individual fates. The collaboration between Drexel and leading actress Catherine Frot (“A Kiss from Beatrice”) began after she saw his documentary “Au Bord Du Monde” about homeless people.
In France, the drama was already released in autumn 2020. In this country, the cinema release of “Under the Stars of Paris” was postponed to 19 August 2021
due to the corona pandemic.
