That was a short pleasure: After only three seasons, the lead-laden Spanish series “Sky Rojo” is already coming to an end. The final eight episodes are available from today on Netflix.

The first two seasons of “Sky Rojo” were released by Netflix in a rush, after the start of the series in March 2021, there was already season 2 in July 2021. However, fans of the series by “House of Money” creator Álex Pina and his colleague Esther Martínez Lobato had to wait quite a while for the third and final season. But now the time has finally come: From Friday, 13 January 2023, all eight episodes of “Sky Rojo” season 3 will be available on Netflix.

Since episode 1, the Spanish series has been characterised by a rather extreme mixture of violence, sex, drug use and a huge pinch of insanity. Neither the women who escaped from the Las Novias brothel with stolen millions nor the gangsters (including Miguel Ángel Silvestre) who go after them are particularly squeamish.

And although Coral (Verónica Sánchez), Wendy (Lali Espósito) and Gina (Yany Prado) are on the run, the ex-prostitutes don’t miss the chance to party. However, the story can quickly turn dramatic again, for example when it comes to the traumas that the women striving for freedom and self-determination have to deal with.

The wild predatory tale is not only popular with Netflix audiences, as can be seen from the fact that the streaming service did not prematurely cancel the series, but also with critics: Season 1 received an impressive 92 per cent positive reviews on the critics’ aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes out of 13 reviews considered. Whether season 3 will be convincing again, you can now see for yourself at Netflix.

MORE NEW AT NETFLIX

In addition to the third season of “Sky Rojo”, you can stream two more new additions on Netflix from 13 January. Family-friendly is the adventure film “Dog Gone” with Rob Lowe, in which a boy loses his dog during a hike. To find his beloved animal in the wilderness, he pulls out all the stops – and even asks his father (Lowe) for help, from whom he has actually been estranged for a long time.

And sports fans can make a note of the docu-series “Break Point”, which follows a select group of top male and female tennis players around the world during their Grand Slam tournaments.
