Last Seen Alive: Action thriller starring Gerard Butler as he frantically searches for his missing wife.
Film plot and background
Action thriller with Gerard Butler feverishly searching for his missing wife.
The married couple Will (Gerard Butler) and Lisa (Jaimie Alexander) are in a crisis. That’s why Lisa asks for a break in their relationship to spend the coming weeks with her parents. On the way there, the couple has to stop at a petrol station. It could have been like any other time, but Lisa disappears there without a trace. Her things are still in the car, her parents don’t know what happened to her. While Will is convinced that a crime is taking place, the e-mails and phone calls suggest other events.
Will gets the local police involved. Detective Patterson (Russell Hornsby) starts the investigation, but doesn’t know whether he should trust Will or investigate him further as a suspect. While the petrol station attendant Oscar (Michael Irby) at first pretends to have no records of the last few weeks, Will finally picks up the trail himself after a slow investigation. He learns that Oscar lied and sees his wife possibly getting into a car with a man named Knuckles (Ethan Embry). Is there really a crime behind this? Or is she ready for an affair?
“Chase – Nothing Stops Him” – Cast, release, background
With Gerard Butler (“Olympus Has Fallen”) in the leading role, an action thriller was created that has an exciting basic idea. Screenwriter and producer Mark Frydman (“Nothing but the Truth”) worked on a script in which the parts of the main actor were to be improvised, while those of the other roles were roughly fixed. In this way he hoped to find a more realistic approach for the film.
Thanks to director Brian Goodman (“Boston Streets”), he found the right filmmaker for the project and Gerard Butler, after reading ten pages of the script, was ready to commit to this unconventional shooting method. The focus was on the main cast around Gerard Butler, Jaimie Alexander (“Thor” films) and Ethan Embry (“Going to the Moon”), a few locations in Savannah, Georgia and a chronological shooting style that reflects the plot of the film.
On 15 September 2022, “Chase – Nothing Stops Him” opens in German cinemas.
