Will the Netflix hit “You” end sooner than expected? Lead actor Penn

The first half of the 4th season “You – You will love me” is currently running successfully on Netflix. Fans are of course eagerly awaiting dYour favourite stalker will soon be digging up graves again on Netflix: German

After the episodes of the 4th season “You” were released on Netflix in February, the remaining episodes await you in March. The accompanying trailer, which has now been released, sets you up for plenty of problems that Joe will have to overcome.

It was so obvious! Actually, Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) wanted to escape to London to finally make his life of crime a thing of the past in season 4 of “You”. At the beginning, everything seemed to go according to plan. Under the name of Jonathan Moore, the stalker and serial killer got himself a job as a professor and hoped not to arouse suspicion. But no way! After only a short time the air became damn thin again and Joe was cornered. Marienne (Tati Gabrielle) was not least responsible for this.

After the first five episodes of the fourth season “You” were released in February, fans of the celebrated Netflix series are now eagerly awaiting the rest. And it won’t take too much longer, because the remaining episodes of the fourth season will be available on the streaming service with the red N on 9 March 2023. A new trailer has now been released for these upcoming episodes. And in it it becomes particularly clear that Joe is getting into a spin – and once again digging up graves!

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE COMING EPISODES

At the end of the first half of “You” season 4, Joe has just gotten on the trail of another serial killer who is also wreaking havoc in London. Although Joe does everything he can to stop killing, more and more people in his immediate environment soon die. The fact that the deaths don’t stop in the second half is mainly due to the fact that Rhys Montrose (Ed Speleers), author and killer, is on the loose. For Joe, of course, this means a lot of stress.

In the first scene of the trailer it is made clear that the confrontation between Joe and Rhys will be the focus of the coming episodes: “I’m looking for a friend. Someone who shares my interests. Someone I can finally trust with my secrets.” These words directed at Rhys and Joe are also quietly reminiscent of the meeting of Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and the Trinity Killer (John Lithgow) in the hit series “Dexter”, who also considered each other kindred spirits but ultimately found that it’s better not to trust ice-cold psychopaths across your path.

Similarly, things could now go the same way in “You”. The season also has another ace up its sleeve, which the series’ fans should be particularly excited about: Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti), an old acquaintance, returns to the action. Actually, Joe’s estranged wife met a rather gruesome end in season 3, but as the trailer now makes clear, Love may have escaped the poison and the double murder attached to it after all. The fact that she sits in a glass cage in the trailer that resembles the one in which Joe used to hold his victims hostage is, of course, yet another special fanservice.

on what happens next. Now Joe actor Penn Badgley has hinted that the series could end very soon.

In season 4 of “You”, Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) has decided to finally leave his life of crime behind. He moves to London and takes the name Jonathan Moore to work as a professor. The hopes of not having any further suspicions, however, vanish into thin air after a short time. Because soon Joe aka Jonathan finds himself in a lot of problems again, which are ultimately also connected to the fact that he is trying to break away from Marienne (Tati Gabrielle) for good.

Meanwhile, the fourth season “You” is split into two parts. While the first five episodes are currently running very successfully on Netflix, the second half of the season will be released on 9 March 2023 – and fans are of course already eagerly awaiting it. However, in an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, lead actor Penn Badgley gave all “You” fans a little shock. Because it seems he doesn’t necessarily believe that the series will continue for very long.

IS “YOU” ENDING SOONER THAN EXPECTED?

In the interview, Badgley said, “I signed a six-year contract. So Netflix could do two more seasons if they wanted to. I think if there’s one more season, that’s where it’s going to stay. That’s just my take on it. I don’t know, I really don’t know. But I do know that everyone involved, from top to bottom, doesn’t want the show to get tired.”

So far, Netflix has not even confirmed the fifth season of “You”, but – given the popularity of the series – one can certainly assume that fans will at least still be able to enjoy it. Whether a sixth season will follow remains to be seen. Perhaps it will be decided to end the series with a film or to launch a shortened season. According to Penn Badgley, it could already be over after season 5. But that is just a feeling of the actor, who apparently fears that the story would otherwise be dragged out too much.

The fact that “You” is so celebrated is not least due to the fact that the series keeps reinventing itself from season to season. While season 1 still worked as a RomCom (which of course brought out some abysmal blossoms), season 2 lived from a big twist that put the events into a new context. Season 3 of “You”, on the other hand, was set as a kind of parody of suburban life. And now, in season 4, “You” sees itself more or less as a crime series. It is all held together by an ambivalent protagonist who always wants to change, but ultimately remains a serial killer who simply cannot get out of his skin.
