Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1: Tom Cruise slips into the role of Ethan Hunt for the seventh time and plunges into a new, daring mission.
Plot and background
In the cinematic year 2023, Tom Cruise returns to the screens in his parade role as Ethan Hunt in the “Mission: Impossible” films. Daredevil stunts, hand-crafted car chases, disguises, double-crosses and international locations included. “Mission: Impossible 7” promises to be just as bombastic as its predecessor.
With 791 million U.S. dollars, “Mission Impossible: Fallout” is the most successful film in the series to date. While Tom Cruise even learned how to perform a halo parachute jump from a height of 7,600 meters, he’s raising the bar a bit higher with “Mission: Impossible 7. “Mission: Impossible 7 – Dead Reckoning Part One” – plot
One time after another, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) has already faced off against international criminals, moles in his own ranks and personal arch-enemies. So far, he has been able to free himself from even the most hopeless situation, but his missions rarely get by without major collateral damage.
What adventure Ethan Hunt has in store for him this time is not yet known. “Mission: Impossible 6 – Fallout” suggests that the Apostles could continue to cause problems for Hunt and his team. It is possible that the ranks of the terrorist group will be increased even further – there are enough new, untitled roles in any case.
“Mission: Impossible 7” cast
As he did previously for “Rogue Nation” and “Fallout,” Christopher McQuarrie is once again occupying the director’s chair and handling the script. In addition to Tom Cruise, there is still a reunion with Simon Pegg (“Paul – An Alien on the Run”), Rebecca Ferguson (“Doctor Sleeps Adult”), Vanessa Kirby (“Fast & Furious – Hobbs & Shaw”), Ving Rhames and Henry Czerny, whom we already know from the very first “Mission: Impossible” film.
As a new antagonist Nicholas Hoult (“Mad Max: Fury Road”) was signed, after the corona-related schedule changes, however, he had to withdraw from the project, his replacement: Esai Morales (“How to get away with Murder”). Also new are “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Pom Klementieff and Hayley Atwell, who is also known from the MCU. It has not yet been determined which roles they will play.
