Alice (Florence Pugh) lives with her husband Jack (Harry Styles) in a utopian community. The 1950s experiment is run by a glamorous company, but appearances are deceptive. Alice begins to have doubts about the lifestyle and begins to question the true machinations of the company. Frank (Chris Pine), the founder of the so-called “Victory Project”, as well as her husband seem to be hiding dark secrets that soon make Alice fear for her life.

Following “Midsommar”, Florence Pugh once again takes on the lead role in a psychological horror film. This time Olivia Wilde is behind the project as director in her second directorial effort (“Booksmart”). Wilde can also be seen in front of the camera.
In addition to Pugh and Wilde, the cast of “Don’t Worry Darling” includes Harry Styles (One Direction), Chris Pine (“Star Trek”), Gemma Chan (“Eternals”), Nick Kroll (“Big Mouth”) and KiKi Layne (“The Old Guard”). Initially, Shia LaBeouf was supposed to play Jack, but rumour has it that he and Wilde broke up during filming.
Katie Silberman’s script made it onto the 2019 “Black List”, Hollywood’s most coveted previously unfilmed screenplays. In 2020, the project took shape and could be shot in Los Angeles from October 2020 to February 2021. Various breaks in filming came about due to corona rules and quarantine measures. The world premiere of the psychological horror film will take place out of competition at the 2022 Venice Film Festival.
The German theatrical release of “Don’t Worry Darling” is dated for 22 September 2022. The FSK release has not yet been determined.
