Horror thriller by Alex Garland, in which a young woman in a rural idyll catches sight of the same face over and over again.
Harper (Jessie Buckley) needs time for herself. After the accidental death of her husband, she seeks distraction in the British country idyll and tries to finally stand on her own two feet again. But instead of being able to appreciate the idyll and her new solitude, she keeps seeing a male figure stalking her. The man’s face is that of Geoffrey (Rory Kinnear), who is supposed to be the landlord of her holiday place. Gradually, the holiday becomes a nightmare come true for the young woman.
“Men” – background, cast, theatrical release
Director and screenwriter Alex Garland (“28 Days Later”, “Ex Machina”) follows up with “Men”, a new thriller-horror film that explores science fiction themes. Filming took place in the UK.
With Jessie Buckley (“Woman in the Dark”) and Rory Kinnear (“No Time to Die”) in the leading roles, “Men” is also excellently cast. The world premiere will take place at the Cannes Film Festival 2022, where the film will be shown out of competition. Men” will be released in German cinemas on 18 August 2022. The FSK rating has not yet been determined.
