As late as September 2023, fans will have to say goodbye to the acclaimed Netflix hit. Season 4 will also be the last. The long trailer for the new episodes sets the mood for a “Sex Education” finale that is as funny as it is emotional.

When it was announced that both Emma Mackey and fresh-faced “Doctor Who” Ncuti Gatwa would not be available for a potential further continuation of “Sex Education” after the fourth season, the signs were already pointing to goodbye. Up-and-coming sex therapist Otis (Asa Butterfield) could not, for the life of him, be imagined by many without the love of his life, Maeve, and his best buddy, Eric. And indeed, Season 4 will now conclude the Netflix series – and very soon.

After it was confirmed in early July 2023 that the end of the British series was imminent, the finale two years after Season 3 is now in the starting blocks: The fourth and final season of “Sex Education” will be released on Netflix on September 21, 2023, and will then once again comprise eight episodes. In total, the series thus comes to 32 episodes.

In just over a week, we have to say goodbye to an absolute series highlight, which was showered with awards and thanks to its smart mix of life-affirming humor and colorful coming-of-age drama has long been on annual best lists again and again, not only in our country.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE 4TH SEASON “SEX EDUCATION “

After their – to say the least – eventful time at Moordale School, Otis and some of his old acquaintances move on to Cavendish College, where the climate is much more open-minded than at their previous educational institution. Here, too, the son of a sex therapist (Gillian Anderson), who has recently become a mother once again, wants to offer advice and support to those around him, but seems to have some competition.

At the same time, Otis has to deal with completely different problems. The physical separation from Maeve, who has traveled to the U.S. for a study program, is getting to the teenager, especially since, according to the trailer, he’s not exactly comfortable spicing up the long-distance relationship with candid picture messages…
