The first Orphan Black: Echoes teaser trailer for AMC‘s upcoming sci-fi thriller spin-off has been revealed. It provides a first look at Krysten Ritter’s character Lucy, who wakes up with no memory of her identity. The series is scheduled to make its debut in 2024 on AMC, AMC+, and BBC America.
In addition, AMC has also announced the addition of Rya Kihlstedt (A Teacher), James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry), and Reed Diamond (Better Call Saul) to the cast of Orphan Black: Echoes. They have been tapped to portray the respective roles of brilliant neuroscientist Eleanor, self-made billionaire Darros, and head of security Tom.

What to expect in Orphan Black: Echoes?
“Set in the near future, the spin-off takes a deep dive into the exploration of the scientific manipulation of human existence,” reads the synopsis. “It follows a group of women as they weave their way into each other’s lives and embark on a thrilling journey, unravelling the mystery of their identity and uncovering a wrenching story of love and betrayal.”

Orphan Black: Echoes is created, written, and executive produced by showrunner Anna Fishko (Pieces of Her, The Society). The main cast includes: Ritter as Lucy, a woman with an unimaginable origin story; Keeley Hawes as perceptive but sensitive scientist who finds herself at odds with her own moral code; Amanda Fix as Jules, a salty teen trying to find herself; and Avan Jogia as Lucy’s boyfriend Jack, a soft-spoken former army medic and single father.
The 10-episode series is directed and executive produced by the original series’ co-creator John Fawcett. Executive producers are David Fortier, Ivan Schneeberg, Nick Nantell, Kerry Appleyard, and Katie O’Connell Marsh.
