Both Hexen hexen films are based on the novel by Roald Dahland essentially tell the same story. In the remake, young Charlie (Jahzir Bruno) has to fend off a conspiracy of witcheswho want to turn him and all the other children into mice.

The remake was directed by iconic director Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future) and received average reviews (via Metacritic). In the opinion of many critics,it falls short of the original,among other things due to a lack of horror factor and exaggerated effects.
But what tires adult audiences can still captivate their children. At least that’s how many people feel today whoeven after 33 years have not recovered from the Hexen hexen original.
