Before Jennifer Lawrence’s sex comedy was released in cinemas, the makers had to defend the plot. Netflix will soon be adding the film to its offering, as has now been announced
The comedy No Hard Feelings didn’t have to do much this year to become the number one topic of conversation for a few weeks: Its thoroughly explosive story was enough. Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence plays Maddie in the film, who is in her early thirties and plagued by money worries. She is supposed to seduce the stubborn student Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman) – on behalf of his parents.
The sex comedy (which ultimately has surprisingly little to do with sex) was a respectable success at the rather comedy-hostile box office in the summer. Netflix has now announced the launch on its German platform in a press release
When is No Hard Feelings with Jennifer Lawrence coming to Netflix?
Netflix Germany will launch No Hard Feelings on December 22, 2023, in almost exactly one month. Interesting side note: Two years ago, a movie starring Jennifer Lawrence became a Christmas event on the streaming service – the disaster satire Don’t Look Up.
How dirty is Jennifer Lawrence’s No Hard Feelings really?
The team behind No Hard Feelings had to take a stand on the accusations against their movie before it was even released. Yes, it’s true: The age difference between Maddie and her “victim” Percy is glaring, as is the difference in power between the unequally experienced couple. The behavior of Percy’s parents is of course also problematic: without a sex life, they see their son as an incomplete person. However, No Hard Feelings cleverly reflects all these problems – more or less.
Because there is no shortage of ruckus in this comedy. If you know Jennifer Lawrence mainly from the Hunger Games films, you’ve probably never seen her act as freely as in No Hard Feelings – including an already legendary nude spanking scene in the middle of the movie.

No Hard Feelings manages the balancing act: the film does justice to its sensitive subject matter – without forgetting to have fun. You can form your own opinion on Netflix from December 22, 2023
