It Lives Inside: US horror film in which an Indian-American teenage girl is terrorized by a demon.
Plot and background
Sam (Megan Suri) actually wants to suppress her Indian heritage, but as is often the case, that’s easier said than done. Together with her parents (Neeru Bajwa and Vik Sahay) she lives in an idyllic US suburb. At her high school, Sam tries to put her friendship to rest with her former best friend Tamira (Mohana Krishnan), who is visibly acting up.
Tamira carries around an empty canning jar every day, seems apathetic and not very sociable. Her best friend tries to keep the evil that dwells in the jar from her fellow man. However, when the jar breaks, the demonic entity called Pishach reveals itself and takes possession of Tamira. It is now up to Sam, who must learn more about her Indian roots, to keep the demon at bay and save not only Tamira’s life but her own from the flesh-eating demon.
