Netflix has revealed the official trailer for The Big 4, the upcoming action crime comedy which hails from Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto. The film will be available for streaming on December 15.
The video features Dina, a police officer seeking the truth behind her father’s murder. In search of answers, she tries to find the four people who were close to her father. Unbeknownst to her, those four went on to become skilled hitmen under her father’s mentorship. To protect Dina from their mentor’s enemies, the killer quartet comes out of retirement.
“A by-the-book detective investigates the death of her father and follows a clue to a remote tropical island, only to find out his true identity as a leader of a group of assassins,” reads the synopsis. “Now hunted by his enemies, she has to team up with the crooks her father had trained — four retired, down-on-their-luck assassins itching to get back in the game.”

The Big 4 is directed by Timo Tjahjanto from a screenplay he co-wrote with Johanna Wattimena. The film stars Abimana Aryasatya, Putri Marino, Arie Kriting, Kristo Immanuel, Marthino Lio, Michelle Tahalea, Budi Ros, Donny Damara, and Lutesha.
Tjahjanto is an acclaimed Indonesian filmmaker best known for his horror films including May the Devil Take You, The Night Comes for Us, and V/H/S/94. He is currently attached to direct New Line Cinema’s English Train to Busan remake, titled The Last Train to New York.
