Plot and background
Since the separation of his parents, Finn (Miran Selcuk) commutes back and forth between Berlin and Neustrelitz. On one of those train rides en route to Berlin, bad luck seems to follow him. First the paddling trip with his father (Ekrem Bora) falls through and then he is robbed on the train. Neither the conductor nor the police believe that his backpack and ticket have been stolen, but luckily he meets the adventurous Jola (Lotte Engels) in the middle of his misery, who motivates him to escape and hijacks a rickety tractor. An exciting journey to the sea begins, where a brazen gang of rockers and a lazy police duo are hot on their heels and a series of fist-pumping adventures await the two runaways.

Based on the award-winning book series of the same name by Martin Muser, German director Stefan Westerwelle (“Into the Beat”) brings “Kannawoniwasein!” a family film about an adrenaline-fueled runaway chase, courage, self-confidence and the power of friendship to theaters. In addition to the two young up-and-coming actors Miran Selcuk and Lotte Engels in the leading roles, a renowned adult cast shines in the other roles with Mirja Boes (“Die dreisten Drei”), Ekrem Bora alias Eko Fresh (“Blockbustaz”), Leslie Malton (“Da geht noch was”), Gisa Flake (“Sag Du es mir”) and Heiko Pinkowski (“Orphea in Love”). Young viewers can also look forward to a funny guest appearance by KiKa presenter Tim Gailus aka Timster.
On August 17, 2023, the exciting road movie for young and old will be released in German cinemas without age restriction.
