Film plot and background
Adventure film starring Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum as they unwittingly search the jungle for a city they thought was lost.
Author Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock) is on a book tour with the cover model of her romantic novels, Alan (Channing Tatum). She specialises in adventure stories in which the hero Dash becomes a sex symbol for the (reading) women. No wonder he gets more attention from the ladies on the tour than the author herself.
But when Loretta is kidnapped by billionaire Fairfax (Daniel Radcliffe) to show him the supposedly lost city from her latest novel deep in the jungle, Alan sees the chance of a lifetime. He wants to prove to Loretta that he can be as heroic as Dash is. Once in the jungle, Loretta and Alan must not only fend off Fairfax, but also navigate the dangers of the jungle.

“The Lost City” – background, cast, cinema release
With plenty of star power in the luggage, the audience can expect an adventure film with a lot of humour and the necessary pinch of romance. Sandra Bullock (“Ocean’s 8”), Channing Tatum (“Magic Mike”), Daniel Radcliffe (“Harry Potter” series) and Brad Pitt (“Ocean’s 11” series) strain your laugh muscles when an unwanted adventure takes their characters deep into the jungle. Brad Pitt was persuaded to guest star after Sandra Bullock guested in his new film “Bullet Train” and approached him about it there.
The film is directed by brothers Adam Nee and Aaron Nee, who achieved some respectable success thanks to the crime comedy “Band of Robbers”. Filming took place in the dreamlike setting of the Dominican Republic.
The German theatrical release date for “The Lost City – Das Geheimnis der verlorenen Stadt” is 21 April 2022 and has been given an FSK rating of 12 years and over.
