After several teasers for “Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet Of Curiosities” there is now also a real trailer for the Netflix horror anthology series. And in it we finally catch a glimpse of “The Walking Dead” star Andrew Lincoln…
For eight seasons, Andrew Lincoln led the cast of “The Walking Dead” before finally turning his back on the zombie hit in the first episodes of Season 9. In 2023, he will finally make his long-awaited comeback as Rick Grimes in the mini-series spin-off “Rick & Michonne”. But even before that – in a few weeks to be exact – Lincoln can be seen in a brand new horror series, which is already giving you the creeps and creeps in the trailer.
Andrew Lincoln is part of the ensemble cast of the anthology series “Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet Of Curiosities”, which also features such illustrious names as those of “Robocop” Peter Weller, Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham (“Amadeus”), “Shadow And Bone” magician Ben Barnes, “The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power” elf Ismael Cruz Córdova, “Harry Potter” fan favourite Rupert Grint and “Legion” star Dan Stevens.
GETTING IN THE MOOD FOR HALLOWEEN
As the official title of the series makes clear, it was developed by exceptional director and Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro (“Pan’s Labyrinth”, “Shape Of Water”), who also introduces each episode as narrator and contributed the story to two of the episodes himself (including the one in which Andrew Lincoln plays one of the main roles).
Otherwise, various genre experts are responsible for the screenplay and direction, who are just as renowned as the cast – from Vincenzo Natali (“Cube”) and Ana Lily Amirpour (“A Girls Walks Home Alone At Night”) to David Prior (“The Empty Man”) and Catherine Hardwicke (“Twilight”) to Jennifer Kent (“The Babadook”) and Panos Cosmatos (“Mandy”).
In total, “Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet Of Curiosities” consists (for now) of eight each completed scary stories, which will be released in a somewhat unusual way for Netflix: Starting on 25 October 2022, two “Cabinet Of Curiosities” episodes will be released on Netflix on each of four consecutive days – a perfect lead-in and set-up for the Halloween festivities at the end of the month.
