In the fourth season of the Amazon series, the anything but heroic superhero team The Seven has to be expanded. New members are Firecracker and Sister Sage, who are now introduced in the first pictures.
In the world of “The Boys”, the Seven are regarded as THE shining figurehead of the superhero community – even if the truth about the thoroughly corrupt squad around the psychopathic Homelander (Antony Starr) actually looks quite different. Over the course of the three seasons, the team has already lost quite a bit of feathers, so that at the end of Season 3, Homelander’s sidekick The Deep (Chace Crawford) and A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) are the only ones left.
So in Season 4, there are some vacant Seven positions to be filled – and with Firecracker and Sister Sage, two new additions have now been finally confirmed. They were announced for the new season a few weeks ago, but now it is certain that they will indeed be members of Seven. But that’s not all: Thanks to two promo pictures we can already take a look at the actresses Valorie Curry (“The Lost Symbol”) and Susan Heyward (“Orange Is The New Black”) in their supe outfits:
Wait till you see @susanheyward & @valoriecurry in action. Horrific & hilarious & very, very dangerous. Just who Homelander needs for TheSeven Now filming motherfuckers!TheBoys TheBoysTV @TheBoysTV @PrimeVideo @SPTV @VoughtIntl https://t. co/1Iw8fKHwFI

THIS IS FIRECRACKER AND SISTER SAGE
Not too much is known about Firecracker and Sister Sage yet, also because they are new creations by “The Boys” creators and not characters already known from the comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Series creator Eric Kripke promised a few weeks ago that the two are among the best and craziest supes he and his team have ever written.
In the new introduction of the characters, it is now also said that Firecracker has a short fuse, while Sage is a thousand steps ahead of all the others. On the one hand, this alludes to the explosive and mental superpowers of the two women, but at the same time it underlines the threat they pose.
So the two are also supposed to cause a lot of horror with their deeds and should thus be in no way inferior to Homelander. And that’s not surprising, after all, Homelander has meanwhile seized power in the Vought corporation behind the Seven and thus has sole decision-making power there, which he uses to gather like-minded people around him. The fact that there are sometimes a few representatives in his troupe who stand up to him – like Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) or Starlight (Erin Moriarty) – should now finally be a thing of the past.
For the boys around Hughie (Jack Quaid), Butcher (Karl Urban) and Co. it will now be all the more difficult to put a stop to the Supes’ machinations. In any case, it can’t hurt that they now have Starlight completely on their side.
JEFFREY DEAN MORGAN ALSO JOINS THE SEVEN
But even with the addition of Firecracker and Sister Sage, two positions within the Seven are still open. How these will be filled is not yet known. It is possible, however, that “The Walking Dead” and “Supernatural” star Jeffrey Dean Morgan will also join the team, after all he will be a recurring guest star in the fourth “The Boys” season.
However, it is also conceivable that Homelander has already accepted his son Ryan (Cameron Crovetti) into the Seven despite his young age, as he seems to have finally drawn him to his side and corrupted him. It would also fit that Ryan actor Cameron Crovetti has been promoted to the main cast for Season 4, so we will definitely see more of him in the new episodes.
We’ll be smarter when “The Boys” returns to our screens at the latest – which, however, should still take a while, as filming for the sequel has only begun in August 2022. We therefore expect that the fourth season of “The Boys” will not appear on Amazon Prime Video until the end of 2023. But there will be more from the Supe universe before then. The college spin-off “The Boys: Gen V” is expected to be launched on the streaming service in summer 2023:
